About this event

  • 3 hours

Join us for a beekeeping session, where we'll explore the fascinating world of beekeeping and learn about the process of keeping bees. This is an excellent opportunity for all those who are interested in nature, agriculture, or simply want to learn something new.

We'll introduce you to the protective gear required for beekeeping, including the veil, gloves and overalls. Once everyone is dressed in their beekeeping attire, we'll begin our inspection of the hives. Our experienced beekeeper will guide us through the process of identifying the different types of bees and the various stages of their life cycle.

Next, we'll take a closer look at the honeycombs and learn how the bees use them to store honey, pollen, and larvae. We'll also explore the importance of honeybees in the ecosystem, and how they play a vital role in pollination and the production of food.

During the session, you'll have the opportunity to handle and observe the bees up close, and you may even get to see our Queen Bee. Our expert beekeepers from Nurture Landscapes will answer any questions you may have and share their knowledge and experience of beekeeping.

In addition to learning about the bees themselves, we'll also discuss the tools and techniques used in beekeeping, such as the smoker, hive tool, and bee brush. We'll cover important topics such as hive maintenance, disease prevention, and honey harvesting.

Our beekeeping session offers a fantastic opportunity to learn about these amazing creatures and gain a deeper understanding of the intricate processes that take place within a beehive. So, come along and discover the world of beekeeping for yourself!
